Our Story

Cafe Bosna hails from San Diego’s annual Balkan Fest, where for many years it provided the festival community with an alternative fluid space, open around the clock and serving a place to recharge, converse with others, enjoy a Bedouin coffee ceremony, and dance to ethnic rhythms of the Balkans, the Middle East, Africa and other cultures deeply rooted in the love of coffee, mixed with deep and sultry house and bass music. It is an immersive experience that transports its participants into the magical world of mindful coffee ceremony, turned global Gypsy dance party with live instrumentation. Bosnian coffee prepared old Bedouin way in hot sand and served with lokum. Spontaneous combustion of its participants’ primal energies creates a Temporary Autonomous Zone - cultivating human connection and encouraging play. Our MISSION is to preserve the tradition and captivate new audiences by fusing the old and the new and facilitating a rediscovery of what’s already encoded in our DNA through immersive space, ceremony, music and dance.
